Namotu 2004

The surfing is so awesome in Namotu that we just had to go back and do it again. There are two reef breaks that only the people on Namotu have access to. I wish I had taken these awesome photos but the resident professional surf-photographer Ben Kottke provided these shots (as well as, some good water photography advice for our own shots).

The water taxi made reaching the surf almost effortless (trust me - the guys were going to need to save their strength to paddle through those waves).

I got some video of the guys from the water, but it was pretty bad. Ben's shots were just so good and much closer that I used them for this page.
On the right you can see the coral hiding just under the water. A bit of a concern at low tide, but great for snorkeling.

Scott surfed all through the winter here in Del Mar. The hard work payed off and it looks like he was having a really good time.
I didn't want to be left out, but the waves were a little too big for me that day (actually, you can see Scott sneaking up behind me and stealing my wave!).
