Late morning we went back to the airstrip for a short hop back to the Johannesburg airport. From there we caught a larger plane for Livingstone.
Everyone was looking forward to the next adventure. Donna was promoted from passenger to co-pilot with strict instructions not to touch anything! |

Left, view of land to the west of Kruger.
Below left, view from our hotel room at the Royal Livingstone. The river goes right to the falls. I don't think we will be swimming out there!
Bottom right, Jeff and Donna's room was right next to ours. |

| The Royal Lingstone is absolutely beautiful. It has a level of service that was a little over the top for us, but I'm sure some people would consider that heavenly. Everything and everyone is decorated with a nod to the history of colonialism. |

| The Royal Livingstone is located in the middle of a national park. Wild animals roam freely about the grounds. Knowing this really doesn't make the zebra grazing by the pool look any less odd! There are guards on patrol during meals to keep the monkeys off the tables and away from the buffet. |

The hotel property goes along the river almost all the way to the falls. There is a path which passes by the homes of monkeys, hippos and crocodiles.
Below is a sign reminding us to look out for those pesky crocodiles. |

Victoria Falls is an incredible sight. Coming in we could see the falls from the plane from quit a distance away. The mist forms such a large cloud that at first you think there might be a large fire on the ground. The cloud is so bright white you soon realize it is mist and not smoke.
The Falls can't be seen all at once from the ground. They are very wide and cross over into Zimbabwe. The bridge below goes from Zambia to Zimbabwe. Half way across is a bungee-jumping platform. No one in our group was up for that adventure, but later Karl, Jeff and Donna saw several people take the plunge. |

There is a wonderful walkway with look-out points all along the canyon wall. The rushing water pushes the mist in all directions. In some places it is just a fine spray, and in others you find yourself in a downpour.
Below left, Donna and Jeff braved a bridge crossing through the mist. Unbelievably Jeff's hat did not have a large enough brim to keep them both dry!
Below, monument to David Livingstone: African Explorer. Livingstone was a curious combination of missionary, doctor, explorer, scientist and anti-slavery activist. |

| Back at the hotel the sun is starting to set. The mist from the waterfalls can still be seen in the distance. |
