Africa 2006 We planned this trip with Marianne at Reservations Africa. You couldn't ask for a better-informed travel agent. She has been to the countries that she is recommending and has done the activities that she is selling. Marianne and her staff know what they are talking about and gave us great advice on everything from what to do and what to pack to what doorway to head for when we cleared customs. |
This year Scott and I took an incredible trip to Southern Africa with our friends Jeff and Donna and my dad, Karl. We visited South Africa, Zambia and Botswana. The main purpose of the trip was to do game viewing so we went on safari. This really has been one of our best vacations ever (I know, we always say that - but this really was so different from anything that we have ever done before - just look at the photos)! |

We were traveling from 3 states - New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California. We meet in the Dulles airport in DC the morning of July 1. Everyone was pretty eager to get going and start our vacation. The flight to Johannesburg is 15 hours with a fuel stop in Dakar. Left, Jeff waits to board the plane. Below, everyone gets settled in for a long ride. We were flying in style on this plane - nice upper deck with a little more leg room. And each seat had its own built-in movie on demand and game station. |
