Plan and evaluate your web pages for success

For many businesses, your website has become the foundation of your marketing campaigns – everything references your website, and everything sends traffic there (hopefully). But are you getting the most from your site? Is it designed to enhance your image – and be a cost-effective tool in your marketing arsenal?

1. Does the look of ALL of your web pages convey the appropriate image?

When creating – or revising – your site, your graphic designer should create a design for your home page that fits in with your overall “company look.” The designer will also likely create a design for an interior page, and perhaps a separate design for any unique pages on the site. Your graphic designer should specify to your web site programmers:

- Fonts and font sizes to be used
- Colors to be used, including link colors

You can usually identify web sites that have been professionally designed by a graphic artist. The entire site ties together visually. The colors throughout the site “look” like the company, and are consistent throughout. Can you say that about your site?

2. Is your site planned to easily accommodate changes, updates, and expansion?

It's important to change and update the content of your site regularly and often. Is your navigation expandable – or do you essentially need a redesign or all new art when content changes?

Your web site is the center of your entire marketing effort. Be sure it’s designed to easily support additions to your product or service line, as well as your next promotion.
